Description

Whipped Cloud Coffee—also known as Dalgona Coffee—is the viral drink sensation that’s as satisfying to make as it is to sip. With just three pantry staples and a few minutes of whisking, you can create this Instagram-famous, fluffy coffee foam that floats atop your favorite milk. Perfect for cozy mornings or café-style iced treats, this recipe is endlessly customizable with dairy-free options, flavor twists, and more.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee

  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

  • 2 tablespoons hot water

  • 1 cup milk of choice (dairy, oat, almond, soy, etc.)

  • Ice cubes (optional, for iced version)
    Optional Add-ins:

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder

  • 1 teaspoon flavored syrup (caramel, hazelnut, etc.)

Instructions

  • In a clean mixing bowl, combine the instant coffee, sugar, and hot water in a 1:1:1 ratio (2 tablespoons each).

  • Use a whisk, electric hand mixer, or milk frother to whip the mixture for 3–5 minutes, until it becomes light, airy, and forms stiff peaks.

  • Fill a glass about three-quarters full with your preferred milk. Add ice cubes if making an iced version.

  • Spoon the whipped coffee foam gently over the milk layer. Smooth the top for presentation.

  • Stir before drinking or sip through the foam for a layered experience. Enjoy!

Notes

For a sugar-free version, substitute stevia, monk fruit, or coconut sugar (note: texture may vary).

To make it vegan, pair with almond, oat, soy, or coconut milk and ensure your instant coffee is additive-free.

Add a teaspoon of cocoa powder for a mocha variation, or try flavored extracts for a twist.

Whipped coffee also works well as a dessert topping—try spooning it over ice cream or brownies!
